Enjoying the magic of watercolour painting, Muskoka is my primary inspiration for painting the spaces and memories of this beautiful natural world that slow us down to ponder, imagine, create.
The tranquility of Muskoka comes in many ways, whether through a dappled sunlit lane, the frosty snow-covered trees, the rugged rocks, the ripple of the rapids, the silence of a lake or the sparkle on the water. I paint landscapes, townscapes and cottage hideaways.
The way the paint’s transparent colours mingle on paper attracts me, sometimes blurred and sometimes bold. I enjoy the contrasts of light and dark. I am drawn towards watercolour’s mix of nostalgic impressionism.
I paint in the hope that my artwork captures something of your Muskoka experience, providing a way into this part of our world that has influenced you.
