I paint what I see. In Muskoka, that means water, rocks, trees, sky and colour. What better medium to capture Muskoka magic than water colour painting? My name is Tom D Clark. I have lived on Lake Waseosa, near Huntsville, for over forty years. An English teacher by trade, in retirement I studied w/c painting. It has been a journey, and a challenge; equal parts frustration and joy.
I might work from a photo or a memory or on sight, sketching and composing. But the magic of the water in pigment takes over to create the thing that captures the eye. The viewer becomes as important as the painter adding her/his own experience and perception to the image to make it a work of art.
His art can be seen at Main St. Local, 24 Main St E. (#16 on the map)
