Born in Northern Ontario, Tiffany Monk has shown her work in Texas, Australia, Vancouver and Toronto. Over the years she has worked with acrylic paint on paper, canvas and wood panel, sculpture, rug hooking and illustration, but currently is focusing on beaded work. Unlike traditional bead work, she creates beaded paintings by sewing each individual bead onto canvas or other fabric. The main purpose is to make bold yet interpretive pieces that are not only visually appealing but also tactile. After spending 20 years in Toronto, she decided to move to the Muskoka’s where she works in the medical field and spends time in her private studio.
